Its been a while...

So I have slacked a lot since the Olympics started, but I finally had time to update everyone on our incredibly exciting lives.  There are several different posts describing what we have been up to, so enjoy!

I must be crazy

After we had lunch today, I let Deagan have some pudding while I hurry and cleaned up the kitchen.  He loved it, but it was SUCH a mess.

New Shoes and the Playground

Since Deagan is walking now, I thought that it was time to get him some good walking shoes.  It doesn't look like he likes them in this picture, but he really doesn't seem to mind them.  I think that they are adorable!

Mini Vacation

Greg took the GRE in Pocatello on Thursday.  We had originally thought that he would be taking it on Friday, so the plan was to leave Thursday night and spend the night to make that Greg would be to his test early the next morning.  Late Wednesday night, Greg thought he would just double check on all of his test information and realized that he was scheduled to take the test on Thursday rather then Friday.  So it was 11:30 and we had to leave at 9 the next morning.  All Wednesday I felt like I should get all of our stuff ready early, and I am so glad that I listened to that prompting because we were able to leave when we wanted to the next morning and Greg got to his test on time.

It was a 4 hour test, so Deagan and I entertained ourselves by exploring the ISU campus, and doing some birthday shopping.  Which by the way the three of us will be celebrating our birthdays in 2 weeks.  It makes for an expensive time of year to have all our birthdays with in a few days of each other, but it was so fun to shop for all of us.  I can now say that it is possible to shop for birthdays on a tight budget because I did it successfully!

We already had our hotel reserved for Thursday night even though we were all done with everything by 4 we stayed the night.  We didn't have much to do, so we went to a near by park and let Deagan blow off some steam before bed.  He had a great time!!

He doesn't use this toothbrush on his teeth anymore after this playground experience.

Deagan with his new shoes!!
Deagan's new favorite thing to do is go down slides all by himself.  He is getting very good at it!

Thank goodness for friends

We had the chance to watch some of our friend's little boy one evening.  It was so fun to have him over because Deagan and him seemed to get along really well.  Deagan loves other little kids, so he was so excited!  I think he might have been a little over excited because he kept hitting Liam.  I think that Liam probably got a little annoyed with Deagan, but he was a great sport about it!  Thank goodness for friends because Liam really made Deagan's day.

Ward Campout

Last weekend we went on a ward camp out at Warm Springs; such a pretty place!  We had so much fun hanging out with friends and just relaxing.  We just love our ward and the people in it!

Deagan loves water, but this water was a little too cold for him.

I HEART the Olympics!!

I love watching the Olympics! Since we have been sick, we have been able to watch quite a bit of them! As a side note: we are all doing MUCH better now!!

Moms aren't suppose to get sick!

Even though moms aren't SUPPOSE to get sick, I am, along with Greg.  Deagan is doing a lot better today though which is a huge plus.  It would be extremely hard to try and take care of a sick baby when I am sick myself.  I feel bad for him though because this morning Greg and I have just been laying on the couch, and he is playing around the apartment on his own.  I hope he doesn't feel TOO neglected.  So we are going to quarantine our house until we are all healthy again.  We just hope it is sooner then later!

Sick baby brings realization

This morning Deagan woke us up by throwing up in our bed.  What a way to wake up I might add.  Despite the awakening, it has been a good day!  Deagan has grown out of his cuddling age, and he all he has wanted to do today is cuddle.  It has made me realize that I don't take as much time as I would like to just play with him rather then work on my to-do list.  Why does it take hard moments to make you realize the things that you need to improve on?  I am grateful for these moments despite my phobia that I have of throwing up.  Maybe this is molding me into a better person.

Nelson Family Reunion

We had the chance to go to Washington for a Nelson Family Reunion at Greg's parents' house.  It was so much fun!  His parents were the host this year, and they did such a good job!  I love being a part of that family, so it is just so much for me to be with all of them.  I also got to meet some extended family that I had never met, so it was so fun to get to know all these people that I had no idea I was related to.  We are excited for next summer when we can do this again!

One afternoon, we went to a nearby lake.  It was from this trip that we discovered that Deagan loves to play in dirt, play in water, and play in anything else that will with either get him wet or dirty.  He is a boy so I guess I shouldn't really be surprised.

This was the randomest thing but he was hanging onto this pole like a monkey.  He held this pose or quite some time and would not let anyone take him away from it.
Swimming with dad in the lake.  Not many people might know this, but I have a fear of water, so there are not a lot of pictures with me and Deagan in the water.  I honestly think that watching Jaws as a little kid terrified me of water that I can't see the bottom to.  My goal is to never let our kids watch that movie.
Splashing in the sand and water.
Our ride over to the beach where we spend the afternoon.  This was the cutest life vest.  It was too big, but it did the job.
Amazingly enough he fell asleep like this.

Our little swimmer!

I think that we have a little swimmer on our hands.   He absolutely loved swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's pool!

The creepiest mask ever made..

Greg found this mask at his parents house, and I think that it is by the far the creepiest thing I have ever seen.

Trying to get Deagan to wear it.  He didn't seem to be afraid of it when we wore it, but he did not want to try it out for himself!
Me in the creepy mask...lovely don't you think!
Greg is the mask.  First time he put this on, he surprised me and I screamed.  It looks so real to me!

Drive Home

Deagan's favorite thing about the drive home was driving himself!  Not really, but he loved to play with the steering wheel whenever we stopped for gas.  It was all we could do to get him to let go of the wheel!

Mommy's little helper

I think that my habits of cleaning have rubbed off on Deagan a little bit.  He helped me as I cleaned the kitchen after dinner tonight.  As I am sure you know, he is such a great helper!

Hiding from mom when I asked him to hand me something.

"No thanks mom. I think I will just clean under the sink if you don't mind."

"This is the best place to play every!"

He got bored of that and decided to help load the dishes.  Too bad for him I moved the silverware rack.  That is favorite part of helping!

Memories...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
