Be of Good Cheer

Have you ever had those days where you feel completely overwhelmed at the thought of all the things that you need to do better?  Of course, we all have right? (I hope!)

I need to be a better mother to Deagan.

I need to be more supportive of Greg in his schooling and his interests.

I need to be a better sister, daughter, friend, etc.

The list could go on for a while.

I am currently serving in a position at church that at times is the greatest and at time the hardest calling I have ever had.  I have never been so stressed about a calling as I have about this one.

My mind never goes to sleep in regards to this calling.  Many times I have felt extremely inadequate to be serving where I am, but the Lord called me here so I will stay here.

I came home from church feeling very overwhelmed at the prospect of what I need to get done with the thought that I might not be able to get any of those things done with the baby coming so soon.

I was discouraged; extremely discouraged.

I put Deagan down for a nap, and felt prompted to study my scriptures before I even try to begin to try and tackle my to-do list.

I came across this scripture found in Doctrine and Covenants 78:18 that reads:

"And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along..."

I was so grateful that I listened to the prompting to study first because these words are exactly what I need to read and to feel.

While I still have a lot of improvements to make in every aspect of my life, I feel more hopeful and more able to move forward now.

I know that I am not a lone, and that I am being watched over and guided.

I am very grateful for that.

Almost 36 week update

I am a couple days shy of 36 weeks, but had my 36 week appointment this morning.  Ugh.  Not a fun one, but everything looks great.  Baby is head down, and seems to be growing great.  I was worried last week that he had turned breach again because I could feel him having the hiccups up high.  He gets hiccups a lot, and I normally feel them down really low.  But it looks like he is cooperating as far as that goes for now!

I am feeling pretty good still.  I lost a couple of pounds for some reason, and they were not too happy about that.  I guess it is time to stack up on the fries and shakes. :) Not really, but I do have to eat more.  It is so hard to eat as it is since I feel like I run out of room so quickly after meals. Oh well!

I met with my doula this afternoon and we talked about a birth plan.  It was really great to sit down and to visualize what I want and what I don't want.  I feel like I had Deagan totally blind as to what might happen, and I feel so much more prepared mentally this time.  I know a lot more and and feel that I will be able to make more educated decisions.  I am still leaning towards as natural as possible. I had a contraction last night though that hurt pretty bad, and the first thought I had was "There is no way I am NOT getting an epidural." We will see I guess.

We toured the hospital where I will be delivering yesterday, and I feel much more prepared as far as that goes.  It is definitely a lot bigger than the hospital where I delivered Deagan at, so there are a few things that are different that I don't like.  But over all I am happy with it and excited to deliver there!

4 more weeks to go!!

Big Boy Back Pack

Deagan is turning into a big boy, and every big boy needs a big boy back pack.  He tells us he is ready for school.

A few more years my dear! :)

Caught Red Handed

One night Greg finished off a little bit of ice cream that was left.  The next morning, as I was getting breakfast ready for Deagan and myself, it got very quiet.

Never a good sign.

I found him scrapping off and licking whatever remains were left of the ice cream on the lid.

Daddy must have forgotten to throw it away, and it became Deagan's new treasure.

Maybe it spoiled his breakfast, I can't remember, but it made for very cute pictures.

Getting Dressed is Hard to Do

Two year olds are independent. Or at least they really want to be; on everything.

Our little Deagan is no exception to this rule, especially when it comes to getting dressed.

***I promise that in no way is Greg hurting Deagan in any of these pictures.  (Just wanted to make that clear:)***

It's over!!!!!

Now too bad this same thing happens at almost every diaper change as well.

Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

Our little Deagan is quite the movie buff.  I have decided he must take after his parents in that regard.

Some of his favorite movies are "Cars," "Aristocats," "Tarzan," and "Jungle Book." All of these movies I can stomach, and some I actually enjoy watching with him.

I am always on the look out for new movies though.

We are proud members of "Netflix" and have found gold in there many times.

Two that Deagan has fallen in love with are "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" and "Up." The thing that we love about Netflix is that you can keep the movies for as long as you want.  I think we had both of these for about 2 weeks each before they got "lost." (Meaning mom put them in the mailbox without Deagan noticing.)

Every time we pass the movie section at Target, Deagan looks at these movies and says he want to buy them.  I have never felt good about paying $20+ for them though.

Well today we stumbled on a miracle.  We were in Target taking our time, since honestly what else is there to do in the winter, and found these two movies for sale for $9.00!! I hesitated getting them at first, but then found myself thinking what are the chances that two of Deagan's favorite movies will be on sale this much AT THE SAME TIME?

Needless to say, we are watching "Ice Age 3" now and will more than likely watch "Up" next.

Good things do come to those who wait:)

It is true; we are addicted!

34 Week Update

34 weeks!?!? I honestly can't believe that I am this far a long.  It is a great feeling! 6 weeks left, and if these 6 weeks are anything like the first 34, he will be here before we know it!

I had a Dr. Appointment this morning, and everything looks great.  The office that I go to has 3 Dr's that I rotate with, and I saw my favorite one this morning.  He said that I have about a 60-70% chance of having a VBAC which is about as good of odds as he can give.

Because I m trying for a VBAC, he said that he didn't want me to go over due more than 3 or 4 days.  He is my new best friend.

I have been feeling pretty good.  I guess as good as you can when you are 34 weeks pregnant, can hardly sleep, and have horrible heartburn pretty much 90% of the time.  But really, I feel pretty good.  I have still been able to work out everyday and to do most of the day to day things that I like to do.  However, I notice that I HAVE to take a nap or lay down for at least an hour during the day if I want to be able to stay up past 6 at night.

Things are looking good, and I am getting more and more excited and to be honest more and more nervous at his due date gets closer.

It is a blessing to be a mother.  One of the greatest blessing of my life.

Sisters are the best

I have been blessed with two amazing sisters.  Both of which I have not seen in ages and I miss them both so much that it hurts.

I wish I lived closer to my sister Chelsea so we could hang out and she could come to me if she was having boy problems or if she just wanted to do something fun like go to lunch or go see a movie.

I miss Ashley like crazy and miss talking to her on the phone more than I thought I would.

I wish that I had more time to be Chelsea's friend when we were growing up.   I was always too caught up in the "it's not cool to talk to siblings" mentality and I am totally paying for that now.

I am obviously biased, but my sisters are two of the best people on this earth.  I feel so honored to be their sister.

Ashley won't see this, but Chelsea will.  So Chelsea, lets talk more! I love you so much!
