Some family photos...

A few weeks ago we decided to take some family pictures ourselves.  We happened to chose the windiest day of the year, but I am pretty happy with how some of them turned out.

I just got to say I love my family. I am truly blessed:)

As of late...

My last couple of updates have been so lame since there have been no pictures, so this is my attempt to make up for those:

Here is an update of the Nelson family in pictures!

For Deagan's school, they wanted us to bring a picture of him.  I have thousands of pictures of him but I don't have really any of just his face close up, so these are my attempts at getting this picture.  It is amazing how hard this attempt was! Let's just say we got our picture but it came with a lot of "Please hold still. No don't look at your feet.  Please stop dancing for a second." You get the idea.

Deagan on his first day of preschool!

When Deagan was about Kayden's age Greg gave him an oreo.  The other day I was making some cookies, and Greg felt that Kayden needed one since it would only be fair to introduce the boys to cookies at the same stage of life.  Of course Kayden LOVED it! He was so sad when he realized it was all gone.

Isn't that the cutest sad face ever?

We were at Target last night and we saw this costume for Halloween.  It was a good price, so we picked it up.  Deagan has not taken it off since:)

Oh dear...

Since Deagan has started school, I feel like we have "arrived." I feel like a "soccer mom." We are always on the go, and while most of the time I enjoy this time in our lives, there are times though when it is just too much.  Life is just crazy busy now, and I just can't keep up.

Today was not a bad day, just a busy day and my mind was running a million miles a minute.  I forgot to buckle one of Deagan's buckles in his carseat on the way to a WIC appointment, and as we were driving on the interstate Deagan brought this to my attention.  We luckily made it safe and sound to where we needed to go, and I told myself to get it together! However, tonight when we got home from Target I went to get Deagan out, he was not buckled in! TWICE in one day I forgot to buckle him in! Isn't that awful?

I need to shape up!

This past week...

Deagan started Preschool! Yay!  I need to upload a picture of him on his first day still, but I wanted to document this now.

He goes on Tuesdays/Thursday from 10-1, and he loves it!  We are thinking about putting him in the M/T/TH program though because he is the only one in his class not going all 3 days.

My little guy is growing up so fast! Love him:)

12 hours!

Last night Kayden slept from 7:30 to 7:30!

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!

I woke up at 5 realizing that that was the first time that I had woken up.  Of course me being the worrier that I am went into Kayden's room to check if he was breathing; he was.  He is getting really mobile (meaning he rolls over in both directions pretty much all the time) and was sleeping on his stomach.  At first this really scared me, but I figured if he is old enough to roll over there then he is fine.

This is probably just a one time thing, but it was pretty nice!

Birthdays!

This time of year is full of cake and more cake as 3 out of the 4 of us celebrate a birthday within a week of each other! It is a lovely time of year but I find myself regretting all the cake that I consumed as a result. I guess it just means I need to kick it up a notch in my workout tomorrow:)

My birthday was on the 3rd, and I turned 24! I know it is still young but I feel like I have "arrived" now:) I was spoiled by Greg and my day was full of surprises and time with my family.  It was perfect.

Greg's birthday was on the 5th and he turned 26.  That night he said, "Man, I am almost 30." Well, he isn't almost 30 but for some reason peaking over 25 has made him feel like he is aging quicker than he would like.
That day was a kind of a crazy day with it being a Sunday, and even though Sundays are suppose to the a day of rest, they never are. (We both find it ironic that before we leave to church we are both have a hard time feeling the spirit because just getting out of the door is enough to make one of us want to swear:)
I made him his favorite meal: swiss steak with mashed potatoes, homemade rolls and a homemade angel food cake.  It all turned out yummy.  I hope he had a good day because I really tried to make it nice, but it was such a crazy day with church and church callings that I am afraid I let him down.  Sorry sweetheart!

Deagan's birthday is today! Can't believe he is 3. The past 2 mornings he has been getting up really early asking to open his presents, and then on his actual birthday he slept in and I ended up having to wake him up.  He was really cranky when he woke up but as soon as we said "Happy Birthday!" he was totally excited.  Both of our parents sent a package full of gifts and he had the gifts that we got for him, so he was totally spoiled but loved it!
I made him "Buzz Lightyear" pancakes (pancaked died green) and he was so happy! He actually ate them which is a miracle! We then went to his orientation for preschool and then had lunch at Subway. (per his request!) Where he again ate his lunch!  We then came home and he played with his new toys ALL day. And because it was his birthday he didn't take a nap and did amazingly well despite that.  We ordered pizza from our local favorite place and he AGAIN ate his meal! What is this!? Amazing!
The past 3 years have been the hardest but the best 3 years of my life because I am a mother.  I am so grateful for my little Deagan and for his vibrant spirit and his love of life. What a blessing he is to me us.
We love you Deagan!!
