400th Post/ Ear Infection/ Conversation with kids

Well this is my 400th post! Pretty crazy.  Too bad I am not that kind of blogger that gives away prizes because now that would just be even cooler! Here is to 400 more posts!

Our boys have bad ears.  It is just the way they were born and they just can't help it.  K has had a runny nose/congestion since last weekend, and then yesterday he developed a fever.  He did not sleep well last night, so I took him to an urgent care at 7 this morning.  They confirmed that he has another ear infection, which makes it 3 for him and he is only 7 1/2 months! D had close to 12 before he was 2 1/2, and we put tubes in his ears.  It seems that we may be following that same path here.

Since they get ear infections so often, the nurse prescribed a higher antibiotic and it seems that it just does not sit well with K's stomach because he threw it all up; all over me.  Those who know me know that I do NOT do well with throw up, and so far I have managed to not have either kid throw up on me.  My poor husband has had that pleasure a few times unfortunately.  But my luck ran out and I was the lucky one today.  In the moment it didn't bother me because it happened so fast and I just felt really bad that he was not feeling well, but now I am on puke alert and anytime I see him make a face that slightly resembles a throw up face my heart races.  I am so lame, but this is a real struggle for me! Lets just hope that it was the medicine that didn't agree with him and that a stomach bug did not hit our house.  I feel bad too because we were at a friend's house for a Halloween party when he threw up, so I hope we didn't infect them either! Oh joy!

We had our ward trunk or treat last night, and D hit the jack pot with candy.  We have been trying to limit him on how much he eats, since he would be happy to just sit down and eat the whole bag in one sitting.  At one point he came up to me with his hands behind his back and this is the conversation that followed:

D: "Mommy, I have something in my hands!"
Me: "Oh yea, what do you have?"
D: "I can't tell you!" (He has a huge smile on his face at this point because he knows he is being really sneaky:)
Me: "Is it candy?"
D: "Yea!!" (I think he forgot that he wasn't suppose to tell me:)

Monday Routine

Mondays are notoriously kind of blah days, but I kind of like them.  It is my day where I get back on track with life and recommit to make this week better than the last.  It is my day of going to the store while Deagan is at school, and it is my day of annoying people at the grocery store because I am using WIC checks.

I have a love/hate relationship with WIC; it provides my family with $100+ of free, healthy food each month, but on the hate side, it is such a pain to use! Without fail when I use them the person at the cash register messes up and gets really annoyed with me. Today was no exception to that.  I held up a line for about 15 minutes, and I was so embarrassed and I know that the lady was frustrated.  I kept apologizing to everyone around me, and I practically ran out of the store when I was done.

And this happens every Monday.  I like routine, but I am not sure I like this part of my routine.  Oh the day when we don't have to rely on government programs!

I am surrounded by boys!

I am quite out numbered in our house, but I love it!

My life is great because of them:)

Teeth Count and 6 Month Update

So K is getting his 3rd tooth! Talk about crazy! D did not have his first tooth until he was almost 8 or 9 months I think, and K has 3 by 7 months.

I wish I could get a picture of them because his little teeth are so darn cute, but that is nearly impossible to get.

K has been waking up a lot at night the past couple of nights when normally he is a great sleeper, and this explains it all! I love his toothy grin! (I am trying to capture it and will post it when I get it:)

So this is late on his 6 month stats but here they are:

Weight: 16 lbs 4 oz (25%)
Height: 26 or 28 in (I have a horrible memory! But he is in the 25% there as well)

Naps...oh how you tease me

Our boys are not good nappers.  I don't know what I am doing wrong, but we have struggled so much with them and their sleep! Talk about frustrating!  I am trying to "roll with the punches," but when I know they are tired and they won't sleep I have a hard time "rolling" with it.

What am I doing wrong here?

New Tooth!

Our little K is proving to us that he won't stay little for too long; he has his first tooth!

He has had moments of extreme grumpiness off and on over the past few weeks, and today that darn tooth finally made its way through! Thank heavens.

Teething is so hard for both baby and parent, and this is just the beginning of the long road of teething that we have ahead of us, but we have got 1 down!

When I told D, he insisted to see and I am sure he will be eager to start feeding him "big boy" food since every time he tries to feed K something I always tell him to wait until he has teeth. He is excited for his little brother!
