Quick Update

We are leaving to Washington today for a few days, so I wanted to update our blog before I get REALLY behind.

Last weekend, Greg's mom Carol was in town working on some wedding details for my sister-in-law.  After a long afternoon of shopping, the whole fam went to a park in Idaho Falls and ate and play.  It was so fun!  The park we went to was had the biggest jungle gym (if that is what they are still called) that I have ever seen.  Deagan loved it!  It was so fun to be with family and to enjoy the summer weather together!  Too bad this kind of weather doesn't stay around for very long.

Greg and Deagan getting ready to go down the slide together.
Deagan's new favorite thing is sand.  There was a sand pit there, and that was his favorite part of the park.  He loved to lay in it and to run his fingers through it.  When we gave him a bath that night, our tub was full of sand!
Daddy and Deagan playing again!
Smile!
Finally a picture with Deagan and mommy playing.  No wonder Deagan seems to like Greg more sometimes; he is so much fun!  Mom is just boring!

I am not sure why my face looks like that, but we just got done going down the slide.  It must have been REALLY exciting!

Book Club

My cousin started a book club a few months ago, and it has been So much fun!  We are starting our third book for this next month.  Anyone who is interested in getting involved is welcomed to join us.  We meet once a month and talk about the book.  Like I said before it is so much fun because it gives everyone an excuse to get out and to have a girls night.  We are reading "The Uglies" this next month, so anyone who is interested should read this as well!

Family in town!

This weekend my family was in town.  It was so much fun to see them!  I love my family more than anything, and I love all the times that we spend together.  Whenever they are here the time flies by way too fast. We always make sure to do as much as possible in the time that we have.

We played in the park the night they got here.  Deagan loves the park and had a great time playing with his wonderful aunts and uncle!  He even loved playing with Grandma and Grandpa!

He is such a stud don't you think!?

Our lost triplet.  She is so beautiful!
Going down the slide.

Hiding from mom

The other day I was putting away laundry and I couldn't find Deagan anywhere.  This is where I found him; behind our door in our laundry room eating lint.  Very lovely!

Friends moving

Our friends who lived below us moved this past week.  (Caitlin, if you read this, know that we miss you guys!!)  Deagan and their little girl Amy were in this random cradle that found its way to our door step.  They spent the whole time trying to get away from each other.

Splash Park

We went to Splash Park with some friends.  He loved the water this time!  He crawled to it all by himself.  The Splash Park is a very special place to us know because this is where he took his first step!

Happy 10 Months Deagan!

Deagan turned 10 months today.  It may not be THAT big of a deal, but it hit me today that he is going to be 1 soon.  Two months from today our little sweet boy will be 1!  I am still trying to wrap my head around this!  I am excited though because I want to have a big party for him with cake and all the other birthday goodies.  Kids are suppose to get older and do new things, but are they suppose to do it this fast?  We are so grateful for him, even when we have rough days.  When he is sleeping, I always wonder how I can ever be annoyed or frustrated with him.  Too bad he doesn't sleep more!  No, but he is a great little boy, and we can't wait to see all the fun things he will do in life!

He got this ball a couple of weeks ago, and he LOVES it!  He takes it everywhere with him.

He got stuck underneath our computer desk.  He didn't cry though.  He just played with his Batman ball.

4th of July Weekend

We had a lovely 4th of July weekend.  We had the chance to go down to Provo to visit my aunt and Greg's brother and sister-in-law.  We had a great time catching up with all of them.  Our weekend went a little something like this:

Thursday:
We drove to Utah, and Deagan did not like the drive at all.  He was very bored and resorted to playing with his feet to pass the time.  We made it safe and sound, for the most part.  As we drove into Provo, we noticed a very weird grinding noise coming from under our car as we drove.  We kind of shrugged it off as nothing big.

Friday:
We started out the 4th by running in a 10K at the Freedom Run in Provo.  We ran this the summer that we were engaged, so we decided to run it again to see if we could improve our time at all.  We ran it in 56 minutes a few years ago, and ran it in just over 54 this year.  Not significant improvement, but still we improved!  It was WAY hot in Utah this weekend.  I think that the temp consistently stayed at 100 the whole time we were there, so that was the only not fun part of the run.  We ran early enough to avoid the extreme heat, but it was still HOT!

We had a BBQ with my aunt and uncle that afternoon in Provo, and then had a BBQ with Greg's brother, Ryan, and his wife Brittney in South Salt Lake.  We were barbequed out by the end of the day, but both of them were delicious!  That is my favorite part of the 4th; all the yummy food!

Back up to after the race:

We drove out car to the race, and the sound was getting worse.  We decided that we would just park it until the next day until we could get it fixed.  Ryan and Brittney were nice enough to let us borrow one of their cars.  Thanks guys!

So after the BBQs, we watched fireworks at Sugar House Park right by Ryan and Brittney's place.  They were honestly the best fireworks that I have ever seen.  I was very impressed.  The park that we were at is huge, and it was PACKED with people.  It must just be the place to be on the 4th.

Deagan loves to be outside, but it was so hot this weekend, that he really only seemed to be happy at night.  People were setting off fireworks in the background of this picture which is why it looks weird.
He really wasn't sleeping during the fireworks.  Greg just took this at the same time he blinked.  He looks so bored, but he had a great time watching the fireworks.  He pointed at the lights the whole time.  They lasted for about 20 minutes, so towards the end he was distracted.  For the most part, he couldn't take his eyes off of them though.

Papa and Deagan before the fireworks.
Ahhh....
Saturday:

We took our car in that morning to get fixed and it was determined that our wheel bearings were shot.  I had no idea what that really meant, but it sounded expensive, and it was.  So our car got fixed, but now new problems are occurring.  Very fun!

Saturday was also my little sister's birthday.  She is 17 now and will be a Senior this year.  Where did the time go?!

Saturday was a good day though despite that.  Greg and Ryan golfed while Brittney and I drove the carts.  Deagan had a great time riding in the carts too.  Again, it was SO hot so he was sweating the entire time.  It is funny because when he is hot his nose sweats.  It kind of reminds me of a dog.

Playing with a tree while Papa golfs.
Finding the tree that he wants to play with.
Watching Papa golf while playing with the tree.  He REALLY liked this tree.
Showing off his cheesy grin!

After the Park

Since Deagan is so faired skin, we stayed in the shade for a little bit, and he seemed to have a lot more fun playing in the grass.
He was very happy to be playing!
Some friends showed up after we got done playing in the water.  I love this picture because it looks like he is talking to Saddie and she is listening intently.
Dry and warm.  Time to go home!

Splash Park

I took Deagan to the Splash Park this morning.  Surprisingly he didn't seem to mind it too much.  He spent most of the time observing, but he never cried.  I think that he will have a lot more fun next summer, but it was still fun to expose him to it.  What a great way to cool off during the summer time!

For the first few minutes he just wanted to stay by the bench and stare at the water.
It was a really bright day if you can't tell.
Still trying to figure it out.
I sat him in the water and he yawned.  I guess it just wasn't exciting enough for him.
Again in the water, but not much of a reaction.

Mommy and Deagan day!

Greg was crazy busy today, so Deagan and I were by ourselves for the majority of the day.  We had so much fun together!  Deagan really likes to be outside now.  He use to hate the grass, but now he doesn't seem to mind it.  We spent a lot of time outside today together playing and he had a great time. I love being a mom!

I had to work on homework for part of the day.  I felt bad using some of his awake time to do it, but he didn't seem to mind playing while I worked.  He just would come to my chair every once and a while and smile at me like this.
He was jumping up and down in this position.  It reminded me a little bit of a frog.
Crawling around in the grass.
Standing up all by himself!
Standing up all by himself and waving to someone.  Very impressive!

Some fun new things that Deagan is doing:

*Waving to himself when we say "bye bye."
*Shaking his head no when he doesn't want something.
*Saying "no." (This might be stretching it, but yesterday I took him out of the fridge and I swear he said no.)
*Standing up all by himself from sitting position.
*Pointing at things that catch his attention

*And most importantly he is melting his mommy and daddy's hearts everyday!
