Memorial Weekend Picnic at Green Lakes

Today was a beautiful summer day.  We decided to take advantage of the weather and have a picnic at Green Lakes Park.

After we were done Greg commented that this picnic marks the beginning of family outings that aren't fun because we have kids.  Sad but true:)

happy for the moment
big smile!
helping dad set up everything, but he got distracted by the ice in the cooler
"sharing" the ice with Kayden
trying to keep the young man happy
view of the lake

kind of getting stressed because our grill is a little finicky

He eats!

REALLY mad at the grill:)

Blanket #3

I FINALLY finished my 3rd blanket.  I was suppose to have it done before I had my baby, but 2 months later and here it is!

I am happy with the results if I might say so myself:)

Discovery

Kayden has really started to discover the world around him.  His latest is his activity mat.  The octopus and him are tight.

2 month stats

Kayden turned 2 months old on the 18th of this month.  I forgot to blog about his Dr. appointment on that day, but I wanted to make sure to blog about it for posterity sake.

Weight: 11 lbs 9 oz
Height: 22 1/2 in

New things he is doing:
-Smiling/"laughing"
-Cooing and "talking"
-Sleeping longer stretches at night
-Holds his head up really well

Our little guy has almost doubled his weight already.  He is a great eater, so I was happy to see his weight so far up!

He got 3 shots a long with the rotavirus liquid "shot."  He of course HATED the shots part, but he handled them pretty well that day.  He has a stuffy nose for a few days before and since that appointment, so we have had a few rough days as a result.  He seems to be feeling better and has been sleeping a lot better as a result.  Last night he slept 8 hours! Wow! Now I just need to learn to go to bed when he does so I can feel the benefits of that:)

It is hard to believe he is already 2 months old! He is growing so fast.

Pool Party

The weather was so beautiful today and has been for a few days now.  We spent the morning at a friend's house and Deagan was able to play outside while I was able to get a little adult conversation in for the day:)

Deagan and his friend are only a couple of months apart, so it is fun to see them play together.  We are hoping to continue getting together like this once a week, and I am excited for Deagan to have a friend to play with because he gets bored with having me around all the time.

We are so grateful for good friends!

(These pictures were taken by Ben's mom. THANKS!:)

Its a beautiful day for a walk!

One afternoon while Greg was home because of his break, we decided to shampoo our carpets.  Or I guess I should say, I decided and Greg graciously played along:) We had to be gone for a few hours afterwards, so we decided to take advantage of the beautiful spring day that it was and walk around Green Lakes; one of our favorite places in this blessed state!

Please forgive my hair...it was humid that day.
He was so smiley after our walk!  We seriously have 100 pictures taken back to back trying to catch his smile.  He is pretty cute don't you think:)
For some reason Greg has this thing where he "eats" Kayden's hand when Kayden lifts his hand up, and Kayden always makes this face when he does it.  So cute:)

Poor kids looks scared to death.  We are pretty crazy, so I don't blame him:)

It was so funny because Kayden and Deagan's roles were totally switched on this walk.  Normally Kayden would be the one sleeping through it all, but this time Deagan was sleeping.  I wanted to document this.
Deagan finally woke up and played in the sand and water.  This is his favorite thing to do when we go there.

*I don't take credit for these pictures.  They are all Greg.  He is pretty talented!
