Important adjustments to make in Rexburg

I think that we have been spoiled the past few weeks to have had "nice" weather for this time of year.  Our luck ran out this past weekend, and I have to say that it is hard to adjust to!  But I am learning slowly that you just have to make a few adjustments if you want to survive:

-When you wake up in the morning in Rexburg, you might want to think about starting your car at least 30 minutes before you have to go anywhere.  A combination of freezing snow and below 0 temps have been known to cause a bit of a delay.

-If you go to start your car and the entire thing is frozen solid, don't stress.  Just start beating it with your gloves.  I have found this to work quite nice, especially when the ice and snow scraper is sitting on the front seat of the frozen car.  

-One important lesson when trying to think of ideas of how to get the ice off the car is don't put hot water on the hinges; it only makes the problem worse.  Duh me!

-If by some miracle you are to get the back hatch of your car open, climb through the back and into the front.  Another important note with this one is DO NOT CLOSE THE BACK HATCH DOOR! It can be a bit scary to realize that you are trapped inside of this gigantic piece of ice.  

-The best way to solve this dilemma is to kick the door with all your might while you are desperately trying to open it.

-Be sure to say a really good prayer when it opens!

-At this point it is safe to assume that you can start your car and let it warm up for another 10 minutes or so.

I promise this won't take more than a half hour, so why not give it a try one morning?

Long over due

I have been so bad about updating our blog lately. So here is a quick update over the past couple of weeks:

*We moved into our new apartment on the 10th of this month! We love our new apartment, and we are excited to get to know our new ward. We do miss our old ward very much though and our old apartment. We had so many memories there. The day we moved in to our old apartment I found out I was pregnant with Deagan. We brought him home to that apartment. We made memories that can never be repeated in that apartment. It will always hold a special place in our hearts, as will this apartment we have moved in to I am sure.
*I started my last semester on campus early this month. I will finish up all my on campus classes this semester and will need to take a couple of on line classes this summer to completely finish up. I can't believe I am this close to graduating! I love going to school and I love everything that I am studying!
*Greg started an internship that will last him through this semester.
*Greg completed all of his graduate school applications, and now we are in the waiting period of what to do next!
*Deagan is talking so much lately. He is always jabbering to us, and I am starting to pick up on a few more words. He is so fun! I am thinking that I would like another one of these cute little guys soon!

2 months and counting!

Only 2 more months until Deagan is in nursery.  Only  2 more months!  But really, who is counting?

What have we been doing?

Since we last posted, I got a new job, Greg got a job, and now we are moving! Yay for changes!  I have been working as an assistant manager at BYU-Idaho's married housing, but the manager got a new job and moved.  I was offered the position last week, and it could not have come at a better time.  I was talking with my sister-in-law today, and she opened my eyes a little bit to dealing with trials.  Before I was offered the job we were struggling a bit with money and what not, but who isn't?  The day before I got the job I found myself wondering how we were ever going to get by, and now I know we will.  My sister-in-law told me that Heavenly Father will stretch us to the limit where we think we can't take it anymore, but then He will come in a help where needed.  What a true statement!  I can already tell that this semester will be insanely busy, but I ready for the challenge, I hope. It is a blessing, so I am grateful for this!  Because of this new position, we will be moving to a new apartment in the complex.  I am sad to move out of the ward, but I am excited for the new ward that we will be attending!

Greg's grandma passed away on the 28th, and we attended her funeral this morning.  I didn't get the chance to know her very well because her health was pretty bad from the time that I met Greg.  She was a wonderful woman though, and now she is reunited with her husband!  It was more of a happy day than sad because we all knew that she wasn't suffering anymore and that she was now with her eternal companion!  

School starts this next week. The break went by too fast!  This is my last semester on campus, and then I am DONE! (at least almost)  I will have to take a couple of on-line classes in the summer in order to meet the credit limit for graduation.  I am taking a lot of credits, so I am nervous about that.  Having the end in sight is my motivation however!
