So I am apart of a Yahoo! group for mom's in the East Syracuse area, and I e-mailed everyone a while back asking if anyone needed a babysitter. I am so grateful for this group because so many great things have come from being apart of it! Like I mentioned in my last post and I am now going to babysit for a family every week, and it is all because of this group. It has been a great way to get know other mom's in the area! This past Friday we got to watch a cute little boy while his parent's celebrated their anniversary. It went great! Deagan was a huge help and he loved to play with their little boy Fletcher.

Deagan went pee pee in the potty!!
I am not really pushing the whole potty training thing, but feel that I should really start soon. However, Deagan has shown an interest and I have let him take the lead. Last night we had our first success! Deagan went pee pee in the potty!! What a proud moment in a mom's life!! He was so happy with himself, and loved it when he got to flush it down the toilet himself. Am I really ready for potty training?! He is really ready!? Where do I go from here!? These are all the thoughts running through my mind. Way to go Deagan!! :)
In other news, I am going to start babysitting for a family in the area. It will be every Wednesday and Friday and every other Thursday in the afternoons. I won't be contributing THAT much to our family finances, but I feel that every penny counts right?

Sorry for the Long Absence!
I am finishing up my online classes this week, so I have been super busy after Deagan is asleep with homework and what not so I have had no time to blog. I can't wait for my classes to be over! Our poor apartment has really been neglected! That is saying a lot because no matter what I have going on, I HAVE to have a clean house. But with everything I have had to get done there is no way I could keep up with everything! I am honestly looking forward to give my house a good cleaning one of these days!
In other news:
We got a new pet! I have been begging Greg for a cat or dog for the longest time, and I realized that there was no luck on that issue. I decided that a smaller animal might be better, so after a lot of discussing Greg let us get a guinea pig! Well he said a small animal, and he wasn't with me when we bough it, so he didn't exactly say those words. He still doesn't even know that we have it yet because he has been gone playing music at a friends house. I went to the pet store with every intention to get a hamster or something, but when I asked the sales person what kind of small animal would be good she said a guinea pig because they are so much more sociable and don't bite. I was sold there. Deagan and I had a fun time looking at the different ones and holding them, but decided to go with this little guy:
Deagan helped me name him Sulley, from Monsters Inc. I was asking him all sorts of names, and that was the first name that he said yes to! So this is Sullivan aka Sulley. That name might change, but for now that is what he is going to be called.
He seems totally scared of us right now. I can't really blame him though. Poor thing probably misses all of his little friends! I read in a book tonight that they like to be with other guinea pigs, so I might have to get another one! I feel so bad for it! Deagan is so excited about it that he was going a little crazy around him as well, which probably didn't help the situation at all. Deagan loves him and want to hold him all the time. I let him hold him a couple of times, with me holding on to Deagan and the guinea pig, and he loves it! He gets a little too excited though, so he only holds him for a few seconds before I get too nervous.
I would still love to get a cat or dog sometime, but for now we will enjoy little Sullivan!
We also had the chance to go to the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, NY this past week. It was so amazing! I was so grateful that we got to go! Deagan did awesome at it. He actually ended up falling asleep pretty much after it started, so it was nice that we got to actually watch it! This is one thing that I love about living in this area is that we have all of these amazing historical sights around us! If anyone wants to go next year, look us up!!

I couldn't really get a good picture of the whole set up because our camera is lame, but this is what the staging looked like before it began.

Funny Story
Deagan is a big help around the house. He puts things away when I ask him to, sometimes. He helps me fold the laundry, by that I mean he lays in the laundry. He is just a great help. One of his new things is to throw away his diapers after I am done changing him. After a diaper change this afternoon, he proceeded to pick up the diaper and head to the trash. His normal trash that he uses was out of reach, so I told him to go into the bathroom right off of the kitchen and to put the diaper in the trash right next to the toilet. I think all he heard from that was, "Put it in the....toilet." because that is where he put it. Like I said, very helpful! :)

We are still here...
I have been in a blogging slump and feeling that I really don't have that interesting of a life right now, so sorry for the lack of posting.
Greg started school last week which means he is gone A LOT! I am really enjoying my time home with Deagan though! There is a ton to do in the area, so we are enjoying the beautiful weather! It rains a TON here though, so a lot of our days are spent inside it seems finding things to do.
We had a lovely 4th and spent it at a ward member's house a long with most of the ward. Deagan was out by 8 that night, so we watched the fireworks a lone from the roof of our car. Very romantic I must say :)
Deagan took a horrible spill down the stairs today, and I being the over protective and paranoid mom that I am freaked out! I am beginning to think that part of Deagan's tears might have come from the fact that I screamed like a maniac! I just wonder what our neighbors must think about what goes on in our house. But I really shouldn't be too worried about it considering the fact that we hear them yelling on a more frequent basis. Instead of yelling out of fear though they yell out of anger, so I feel justified! The way that Deagan fell though I was convinced that he was going to break something! Miraculously he only ended up with a scratch on his neck and cheek. We were definitely watched over!! Poor Greg got a frantic phone call from me and being the wonderful person that he is calming walked through what to do. Oh what would I do without him!
Here are a few pictures to make this post a little more interesting:
Playing on his new slide--A ward member gave this to us for free!
We played on the grass during the 4th of July parade rather than watching it. Bark is SO much more interesting than fire trucks!
In a trance at the local Zoo...The sharks that he is holding are now a necessity for WHERE EVER we go.
Taking a break in the shade...Gotta love the shades Greg is wearing!
Posing at the sign at the Zoo...he wanted me to go back there with him though.
Hugs and Kisses from New York!!
