I just finished reading this book, and I must say that I was surprised by it.  Anyone who is a "Twilight" fan should read this!

Football Game

Greg played on a flag football team this summer, and tonight was his last game. Deagan and I decided that we would go support him one last time. The game didn't go very well, but despite that Deagan had a lot of fun just being outside.

"What is this?"
"It is bag full of something cool!"

"Hey Dad, come look at this!"

He is only a little bit bigger than that cone, so he thought it was so cool! And it was bright orange! Even better.

"Maybe I could carry this bag over to that cone?"

"Why can't I get it to move?!"

"Hey! Look at me stand all by myself!"

Towards the end of the game he was getting really tired, hence the pacifier in the mouth. This football stayed by his side the whole game too.

"Maybe I can pick it up and throw it like papa!"

"Never mind, I guess I will just play with this instead."

"It doesn't taste as good as it looked!"

"It is still so fun to play with!"

Look at what we've been up to!

Since our last post many things have happened in our family.  Deagan sprouted his first tooth, and he is currently in the process of getting 3 more in, at the same time.  As a result of this wonderful milestone we have had restless nights and lots of tears, but overall lots of fun! Deagan's new favorite thing to do is making a barking noise.  I am not quite sure how to describe it in any other way but a  bark that is really high pitch.  It is very lovely.  He is becoming quite the explorer, and as a result has suffered a few battle scars; a split lip, and a scrape on his chin to name a few.  We were so excited for him to reach this age, but now I am so nervous that he is going to hurt himself!  It is a very fun age overall!

Summer is officially here, but now I am beginning to wonder if Spring was ever really here.  It seems like there wasn't much of a transition between snow and hot weather, but we are grateful for it regardless.  Since it did snow only a couple of weeks ago, Deagan got to wear his hoodie in June.  I think he looks absolutely adorable in it!

Because it has been so hot out lately, Deagan has not been wearing too many clothes.  If he could have it his way he would only wear a diaper.  Either way, he seems to be handling the heat up to this point.

As I mentioned before, he is very interested in everything around him.  He loves to crawl around our apartment and get into anything and everything that he can reach.  His new favorite toy to play with is our toilet plunger and toilet brush.  This makes mom very happy as I am sure you can guess.

I know this is a day late, but I wanted to wish a Happy Father's Day to all the fathers in my life:

Thanks to my father-in-law for everything that you do for our family!!  We really appreciate your love and support.  Thanks also for raising such an amazing son!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderfully amazing husband!!  You are such a great father to our son!  I love you so much, and am so grateful for all your love and support!

Happy Father's Day to my dad!  I love you dad!  I wish that we could see each other more, but we love the times that we spend together!

We did it!!

(For some reason I can't get this picture to delete, but it is not the best picture of any of us. We just finished a half marathon so that is my excuse.)

We did it!  We ran the Teton Dam Half Marathon this morning in 2 hours and 15 seconds.  We did it a lot faster than we thought.  There is just something about races that get your adrenalin going.  It was hard to keep a consistent pace and not to go too fast at the beginning, but we managed to take it easy at the beginning which allowed us to finish strong.  It was a pretty challenging course.  There was one part where there was a straight up hill for about 4 miles.  Luckily, it was a gradual increase so it was doable.  It was so fun to do with Greg and my sister.  My sister's friend also ran with us, and she was such a great motivator.  The first 8 miles were pretty easy, but around mile 9 and 10 I was really feeling it.  Greg was so encouraging though, and we ended up hauling the last mile.  The last 2 miles were pretty much downhill, which really helped a lot after so many hills.  It was just so fun to be apart of this.  There were so many volunteers along the way that helped encourage us.  I was really grateful for all the support wether they knew me or not. I would have to say that the best part of it all was the free massage afterwards, a very needed thing.  My muscles were screaming at me.  Even now, a few hours afterwards, I am still feeling it.  I am anticipating that tomorrow I will be really soar as well, but it was so worth it!!! I have decided that I am hooked now on running, and I would love to do this for the rest of my life.  There are a few more half marathons that we are going to do this summer, so now that we have this one under our belt I feel good.  The one thing that scared me from doing anything like this is the feeling that there is no way I could do it, but I have to say that anyone can do it.  There were people of all shapes and sizes running, and it really made me realize that anyone can run regardless of experience.  I can't believe that we actually did this, but I couldn't be happier!

The time has come!

After 10 long weeks of training, the Teton Dam Half Marathon is finally here. Tomorrow morning at 7:30 am, Greg, my sister, sister-in-law, and her boyfriend will be running 13.14 miles. I nervous, excited, scared, anxious, and happy that it is here. A full report will follow soon!

This really makes you think

I found this link on my sister's blog.  It made me cry.  I thought that it was a reminder to me and to all parents just how special our little ones are.  They are little miracles!

Here you go mom!

My mom has been anxious to see new pictures, so I thought I would post quite a few to make her happy!  I hope you enjoy mom!

A quick update on our little family:

Greg is plugging through school.  I think that he is beginning to show symptoms of senioritis. He graduates next semester and he can feel it coming so close!  He is a fabulous father and husband!

Deagan has mastered crawling and is moving on to cruising around our apartment on all our furniture. He is becoming quite the handful, but we are really enjoying watching him grow and to learn new things.  

I found out this past week that I can graduate this next April.  What a relief that is!  To see an end in sight is very nice.  I love it here, but I am very ready to be done with school.

That is our quick update. 

Deagan is still trying to get the camera.  He won't give up.

We let him experience grass for the first time this weekend.  I am not sure that he likes it.  He won't put all of his arms and legs down.

Greg wasn't feeling good this afternoon, so Deagan was trying his best to make him feel better by being right by his side.  Deagan loves his daddy so much.  He can't leave his side.
