Fun-Filled Weekend

We made it a goal to try to do as much as we can together as a family before Greg goes back to school, but we also made it a goal to spend as little money as possible doing it.
And so far we are doing really well with these goals!
We have been going swimming a lot as a family at the local Y, and eating picnics at the local park.  Also, there are a lot of festivals in the area that cost little to no money.
Last weekend there was a "Family Frendzy" festival in downtown Syracuse that we went to, and Deagan had a blast!

There was a man there who was making things out of balloons, and he made Deagan a sword and a holster to hold it.

Last weekend was also "Canal Days" in a local village (the Erie Canal runs right through the area) that we attended.  There were so many fun things for Deagan to do, and he had a great time.  With everything we did we only spent $3.50! (And that included parking downtown!) Deagan had such a great time too! It just proves to me that you don't have to have a lot of money to have some fun when you have small children:)

Ok so this bus was the coolest thing.  I saw an episode of "John and Kate Plus 8" where they played on a bus that had been gutted and there were all sorts of play things inside of it.  I always thought that was so cool, so I was so excited to see that they had a bus just like that at "Canal Days."

There were a few shark toys inside the bus, and as soon as he saw them that is all he wanted to play with.

"Don't even think about taking my toys."

That night Greg went out worked on some music, so the boys and I had a fun night in!

you guys have been busy having a lot of fun! what a neat idea to do as much as you can for as inexpensive as you can before Greg goes back to go. Deagan is so cute in his balloon get up!

Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun. I hope you make the most of the break between semesters. How much school does greg have anyway?
