Sick baby brings realization

This morning Deagan woke us up by throwing up in our bed.  What a way to wake up I might add.  Despite the awakening, it has been a good day!  Deagan has grown out of his cuddling age, and he all he has wanted to do today is cuddle.  It has made me realize that I don't take as much time as I would like to just play with him rather then work on my to-do list.  Why does it take hard moments to make you realize the things that you need to improve on?  I am grateful for these moments despite my phobia that I have of throwing up.  Maybe this is molding me into a better person.

Nelson Family Reunion

We had the chance to go to Washington for a Nelson Family Reunion at Greg's parents' house.  It was so much fun!  His parents were the host this year, and they did such a good job!  I love being a part of that family, so it is just so much for me to be with all of them.  I also got to meet some extended family that I had never met, so it was so fun to get to know all these people that I had no idea I was related to.  We are excited for next summer when we can do this again!

One afternoon, we went to a nearby lake.  It was from this trip that we discovered that Deagan loves to play in dirt, play in water, and play in anything else that will with either get him wet or dirty.  He is a boy so I guess I shouldn't really be surprised.

This was the randomest thing but he was hanging onto this pole like a monkey.  He held this pose or quite some time and would not let anyone take him away from it.
Swimming with dad in the lake.  Not many people might know this, but I have a fear of water, so there are not a lot of pictures with me and Deagan in the water.  I honestly think that watching Jaws as a little kid terrified me of water that I can't see the bottom to.  My goal is to never let our kids watch that movie.
Splashing in the sand and water.
Our ride over to the beach where we spend the afternoon.  This was the cutest life vest.  It was too big, but it did the job.
Amazingly enough he fell asleep like this.

Our little swimmer!

I think that we have a little swimmer on our hands.   He absolutely loved swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's pool!

The creepiest mask ever made..

Greg found this mask at his parents house, and I think that it is by the far the creepiest thing I have ever seen.

Trying to get Deagan to wear it.  He didn't seem to be afraid of it when we wore it, but he did not want to try it out for himself!
Me in the creepy mask...lovely don't you think!
Greg is the mask.  First time he put this on, he surprised me and I screamed.  It looks so real to me!

Drive Home

Deagan's favorite thing about the drive home was driving himself!  Not really, but he loved to play with the steering wheel whenever we stopped for gas.  It was all we could do to get him to let go of the wheel!

Mommy's little helper

I think that my habits of cleaning have rubbed off on Deagan a little bit.  He helped me as I cleaned the kitchen after dinner tonight.  As I am sure you know, he is such a great helper!

Hiding from mom when I asked him to hand me something.

"No thanks mom. I think I will just clean under the sink if you don't mind."

"This is the best place to play every!"

He got bored of that and decided to help load the dishes.  Too bad for him I moved the silverware rack.  That is favorite part of helping!

Memories...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
