The kids and I are safe and sound in Wyoming. We arrived on March 14th, and have slowly been adjusting. It is so great to be with family right now. I am so grateful for them!
Greg arrived in Afghanistan last week after a grueling 4 days of travel. The time while he was traveling was stressful, but now that he is getting settled I feel better. We are able to Skype every morning which is really great! He seems to be doing well!
It is not easy being apart as a family right now, but we are being blessed so we are surviving. I am grateful for all the people in my life right now!

North Carolina Trip
This past weekend we went to Atlantic Beach, NC for family vacation before the kids and I leave this upcoming Wednesday. It was the first time we have taken a vacation like this, and we just had the best time. Of course not every moment was perfect, but we were together as a family for 4 whole days with no plans other than to spend time together and that was wonderful. We stayed in a hotel that was a 3 minute walk away from the beach, so we were at the beach everyday. The weather was never really nice while we were there, but we made sure to go to the beach every day regardless because how many times are you that close to the beach?
Other things we did was visit an aquarium where Greg and I touched a sting ray and we saw some sharks!, ate local sea food (Greg, not me), ran on the beach, visited Fort Macon (an old military fort that was used during the Civil War through WWII), played on the beach, collected sea shells, went to a movie, went swimming at our hotel pool, and saw dolphins swimming in the ocean! By the time it was time to come home we were exhausted by being on the go so much, but it was so worth it!
I fell in love with the ocean, and I can't wait to go back some day. I will never swim in it though because of my intense fear of sharks, but I will admire it from a far. Deagan and Greg shared in my love of the ocean, but Kayden refused to go near it. He kept saying "The ocean gonna get me!" The plus side to that though is that I never had to worry about him getting too close to the water.
We made the goal to not stress about moving while were on vacation, and I think we did a good job at that. We made so many fun memories that I hope will sustain us while we are apart.
We are home now and stress is in full force. Wish us luck!

Lunch date
One of our favorite things to do when the weather is nice is to visit Greg at work for lunch. Thursday was a beautiful day, so the kids and I decided to join him for a bit. I really like where he works. It is off the Potomac and across from the airport. Being off the water is so beautiful and the kids love watching planes come in and take off. If it wasn't a bit of a drive, I would go meet him there more often because it really is a beautiful place.
With Greg leaving so soon we are trying to soak in family time anywhere we can get it, so I am grateful for these little moments that we will not have while he is gone.

Zoo day!
Greg surprised us by taking Wednesday off from work, so we went to the zoo! We really love the zoo here; especially because they have gorillas! That is probably the last time we will go before we leave, so we soaked it in! We finished our day by getting some fro-yo, so it really was the perfect day:) I just love my little family!
Meet Hazel!
We got a dog! Her name is Hazel and she is about 10 week old. She is a chocolate lab. She is currently with my family where we will meet her when we get there in just 2 1/2 weeks! So we have not officially met her yet, but we are so excited! We might be crazy, but I am excited for this new challenge!!

The Wrath of Kayden
Isn't it ironic that just before this post I talked about the boys being so sweet to each other, and here is a post about how mean they can be to each other? That's life in our household.
The boys were playing a game together on my phone and were getting a long really well. Then out of nowhere Kayden stabs Deagan with a fork! (That I didn't even know he was holding.) Deagan was freaking out because he was afraid it was bleeding everywhere and he really hates seeing blood. I took a picture of it just to show him what it looked like and he felt better about the situation. Kayden got to spend a couple of minutes in time out and Deagan was really concerned about him because he was crying. He just gets stabbed by his brother and instead of holding a grudge he shows real concern; thats true love don't you think? Kayden came out and told Deagan he was sorry and then they hugged. Too sweet for words.
They are nice when they want to be
Watching my boys interact with each other every day is really interesting. They love to play with each other, but they butt heads a lot. I know this is normal sibling behavior, but I just want them to get a long you know?? But then there are those moments when they are so sweet to each other and it just makes my heart melt. The other morning, they cuddled as they watched cartoons and I just thought it was the cutest thing ever. Not too long after this I am sure they were fighting over a toy or something else really insignificant, but I am glad I captured this little moment to remind myself they really do love each other. :)
