34 weeks!?!? I honestly can't believe that I am this far a long. It is a great feeling! 6 weeks left, and if these 6 weeks are anything like the first 34, he will be here before we know it!
I had a Dr. Appointment this morning, and everything looks great. The office that I go to has 3 Dr's that I rotate with, and I saw my favorite one this morning. He said that I have about a 60-70% chance of having a VBAC which is about as good of odds as he can give.
Because I m trying for a VBAC, he said that he didn't want me to go over due more than 3 or 4 days. He is my new best friend.
I have been feeling pretty good. I guess as good as you can when you are 34 weeks pregnant, can hardly sleep, and have horrible heartburn pretty much 90% of the time. But really, I feel pretty good. I have still been able to work out everyday and to do most of the day to day things that I like to do. However, I notice that I HAVE to take a nap or lay down for at least an hour during the day if I want to be able to stay up past 6 at night.
Things are looking good, and I am getting more and more excited and to be honest more and more nervous at his due date gets closer.
It is a blessing to be a mother. One of the greatest blessing of my life.

Sisters are the best
I have been blessed with two amazing sisters. Both of which I have not seen in ages and I miss them both so much that it hurts.
I wish I lived closer to my sister Chelsea so we could hang out and she could come to me if she was having boy problems or if she just wanted to do something fun like go to lunch or go see a movie.
I miss Ashley like crazy and miss talking to her on the phone more than I thought I would.
I wish that I had more time to be Chelsea's friend when we were growing up. I was always too caught up in the "it's not cool to talk to siblings" mentality and I am totally paying for that now.
I am obviously biased, but my sisters are two of the best people on this earth. I feel so honored to be their sister.
Ashley won't see this, but Chelsea will. So Chelsea, lets talk more! I love you so much!

RSV
Deagan has been sick all week, and it has been a pretty crummy week for everyone as a result. He started coughing on Sunday and by Tuesday he was sicker than I have seen him. I called the Dr. on Tuesday, and they said that he was probably just getting his two year old molars and to call back on Thursday if he wasn't showing signs of improvement. First off, Deagan has never been the one to get sick because of teeth coming in. He does get fussy, but he doesn't run a fever of 102 for 4 days! Also, I don't believe that nurses should be able to diagnose things over the phone. Maybe you can get enough idea of what the symptoms are to make a general guess, but until you see the patient it seems odd to me to diagnose it and leave it at that.
Well, yesterday he still wasn't acting much better to me, so I called again and got the same "diagnosis." This time I pushed it though because I really felt that it was more than just teething. They finally caved and agreed for him to come in today because they were so busy yesterday.
So we took him in and the nurse felt that he showed all the symptoms of RSV. His breathing is raspy, nothing too serious at this point, but there definably was something going on with him! Even though I am not happy to hear that my poor child has this, it does make me feel better that I wasn't just being paranoid about him being sick.
Fortunately, he is at the age now where it isn't as serious as it would be in an infant. Really at this point all we can do is wait it out. I am just grateful to have some answers after almost no sleep for a week! It has really thrown me off of my routine being home ALL the time. I have been working out at home as best I can, but I can't wait to go back to Y and get back into that routine.
We will continue to keep him isolated for a couple of days, so hopefully by Monday we will be out and about again! Dang winter sicknesses! It is just part of life I guess!

32 week update
It is hard to believe I am 32 weeks along! This pregnancy is quickly coming to an end! :) I had my regular appointment this morning and everything looks great!
I have had so many people tell me that I look way too small to be as far a long as I am, and I am measuring a little behind, so my Dr. scheduled a sonogram for today's appointment. Everything looks great with our little man! He is weighing at about 4 lbs 6 oz (give or take a few ounces) and he is actually measuring ahead of his due date based off of his measurements. When they measure my stomach he measures a week behind, but as far as he is concerned he is ahead of the game! It was so great to get that extra reassurance because after hearing a million times that I am too small, I really began to think that there might be something wrong, but there isn't!
They took a couple of 3D shots as well, and I wish I had a scanner to upload the pictures on here because he is so cute!! I just can wait to see him and to kiss his sweet little cheeks!
I have had some issues with an antigen in my blood, so every month I have to get my blood drawn to make sure that the level isn't changing. It has nothing to do with the RH factor, but if I were to ever need a blood transfusion for any reason they would have to be really careful to get the exact blood type or I would have a reaction to the blood. Kind of sounds scary to me, but they haven't seemed concerned about it, so I haven't been either.
I have gained about 19 lbs, so ahead of what I gained with Deagan. But I think only gaining 13 lbs with Deagan was a really rare thing. I have been exercising every day and trying to eat as healthy as I can with this one, so I feel like it is a healthy weight gain. It is still hard thought to see the numbers on the scale go up though every week.
He is also head down which is really good news because I am going to try for a VBAC. He has been breach up until this point, which really wasn't that significant since I wasn't that far a long, but now that we are getting down the the last few weeks, it is a really good sign that he is in the right position. My Dr. said after 34 weeks, they really don't have that much room to turn to as long as he stays in this position we will be great!
We hired a Doula to help us increase our chance of having a VBAC, and I feel like I have researched this topic up the wazoo! At this point, I don't want any kind of interventions for induction, but the Dr. said they won't let me go past 41 weeks. Looking at Deagan's birth weight, which was 8 lbs, and considering how big this baby is already, going too far over my due date will make for a very large baby which will only decrease my chance of having a successful VBAC. I am feeling very confident and content with our decision to try for a VBAC, so I hope that everything will continue to go as smoothly as it has so far.
I have not decided to go all natural with this guy, but I am hoping to put off having an epidural as long as possible and to labor at home as long as I can. Being at the hospital in labor with Deagan for 24 hours was just too long. I am going to try to avoid as many interventions as possible. I say that now obviously and then we will see how I feel once I am actually in labor and can't stand the pain. I just want this labor to be completely different from my first because my labor experience with Deagan was just horrible.
I am so excited to that things are going so well, and I can't wait to hold our little bundle! We are still undecided on names, but before we come home from the hospital we will for sure have a name! 8 weeks to go! :)

He is a music man
Music is a big part of our family, and Deagan has picked up on that. It might be kind of hard to tell, but in the background of this picture is Greg's electric drums. They have made their way into Deagan's room, and it is music heaven for this little guy.
He has a toy that has part of a piano on it, and he loves to show off his music skills on this thing.
This picture is interesting to me because it shows me how big he has gotten. He use to pull himself up to this toy and would try really hard to climb on top, but not he is tall enough that he just sits down when he gets tired of playing.
His "Elvis" face. He makes this face a lot lately for some reason.

Oh How Lovely
I am extremely biased when it comes to saying I have the cutest little boy, but these pictures pretty much back up my reasoning.
I went to the temple last weekend while Greg watched Deagan. They decided to go see the "Big Angel" (The Hill Cumorah)
It still amazes me sometimes that we live where we do. Can you believe that on this hill the gold plates rested and the Angel Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith? It always amazes me.
Deagan loves to look at the "Big Angel"
He also loves to climb stairs. (I know there is snow on the ground in these pictures, but it was unusually warm this day. We were not being neglectful parents :)

Updates
Ever since Greg gave me the book of our blog for the year 2009, I have gotten a greater resolve to keep this blog updated with our everyday life.
So with that said, here is a list of the recent happenings in the Nelson home:
*Greg started school again on the 19th of this month. He was off school for a whole month! It was so nice to have him home so much and to be able to do so much together as a family. We were use to BYU-I's Christmas break which was only like 2 weeks, so it was a nice change! The day before he went back I was so depressed about him going back for some reason. I don't like having him gone all the time. I would spend forever with just him if I could, but this is a necessary step for our future. However, I woke up Tuesday morning and I was surprised to feel not depressed about him being gone but excited about all the fun things that Deagan and I were going to do that day. The night before when we were saying our couple prayer, Greg prayed for me about being home without him, and I know his prayer was answered, as was mine.
*Deagan and I have been having so much fun together these past couple of days. I am so grateful to be a stay at home mom because it gives me the freedom to be able to do so much with Deagan that I would not be able to if I worked.
It is so fun to be here with Deagan because he changes to much and it is so fun to see. I love how much his imagination has gotten lately. It is so funny the things that he thinks of when we are playing. He talks really well now, and he loves to tell stories. He is so sweet to me.
*Greg found out this past week that he was given the chance to serve as an intern in the U.S. Embassy in Honduras for 10 weeks this summer. We are still waiting to here back about more specifics, but have been thinking a lot about him doing it. It really is such a great thing for what he wants to do in the future because his dream is to work in foreign U.S. Embassies for the Foreign Service Department. It would put him in the perfect position for a job after he graduates which would be such a blessing! The timing of it though isn't the greatest because our little guy will only be about a month old when he would have to leave. In the e-mail that Greg got about the internship, they had a lot of information about Honduras. It talked about how it can be kind of dangerous, just like any other big city, and that there is a possibility of being exposed to a variety of sicknesses like Malaria, Hepatitis, etc. We both felt after reading that that if he was to do this, I would stay back with our two little boys. This is not at all what we want, and we always said we would never do that, but now we don't know what to do. We have been praying a lot about it and hopefully as we get more information we will be able to make a decision as guided by the Spirit.
*I am 31 weeks a long now! Getting closer! This little guy is very active which is great because I know he is healthy and doing well, but it also means that I am so uncomfortable a lot. I feel like he kind of dropped a little bit this past week because before this week I felt he was right in my ribs and it was hard to breathe at times, but I haven't felt that all week and I feel like he is sitting a lot lower now. I am feeling pretty good all things considering. I have noticed though lately that I can't go as hard as I normally do or like to do. I don't consider myself a sedentary person, and I really like to be active and to be doing something, but I find myself paying for keeping up that kind of lifestyle in the afternoons. I need to start napping during Deagan's naps I have decided because I have been using that time lately to clean and catch up around the apartment, but it always turns out that I am SOO exhausted when Deagan wakes up. I feel blessed that I still feel able to do so much right now, and I hope that this feeling continues for a while.
*I have been busy with church stuff, mom stuff, and wife stuff lately. I have been working on Pursuit #1 from my other blog a lot, and I am loving it! It is such a great feeling to accomplish a goal that I have set for myself. If nothing else, this experience will teach me how to make and keep goals that I have set for myself.
*It is hard to believe that January is almost over! The baby really will be here before we know it! I can't wait! We still need to get a few things before he can be born, so I can wait until we have that stuff, but I just can't wait to see his sweet little face.
*It seems that we have had a pretty mild winter so far here, which has been great because we were expecting the worse. Granted we still have a few more months left of winter, but we are surviving a Syracuse winter so far. We really love it here, and feel so blessed to be in this area. It really feels like home right now.
Have a great Thursday!
