We are home!

I will write more later, but I have a TON to do to catch up from being gone so long, but here are a few pictures from our lovely vacation!

Our future home state!
Mom and Deagan
Finally a picture of the two of us!
We were pleasantly surprised by how much we fell in love with Syracuse and have decided to call that place home for the next two years!  We are now trying to find a place to live and hope to be out there in over a month!  The Lord blessed us with many little miracles while we were there that helped us to know where we are to go.  We also survived all the flights!  Deagan was an EXCELLENT traveler!  Overall it was a fabulous trip!  Check back for more pictures and funny stories later!

We hate to say goodbye!:(

My dad and brothers came to visit this past weekend.  Deagan LOVES LOVES LOVES my little brother Cody, and he had a hard time saying goodbye to him.  I love watching them play together! Cody is such a great kid, so I only hope that Deagan will turn out like him!  We love and miss you Dad and Cody!!

I LOVE this one!
Trying to pull Cody back in to his room.
He didn't want a hug.
So sad that Cody had to leave:(
"Can I go with you?"

Holly's Wedding

My sister-in-law got married on the 14th of this month and I am now just loading these.  It seems I am always running behind!

One of my favorites

The beautiful bride!

I thought this kind of turned out cool with the focus and all.  I meant to focus on Holly and Brad, but I guess this will work!

A little scared I must admit

We are flying out east on Tuesday to visit Syracuse and Washington D.C. so we can decide where we are going to go to school. While I am so excited for this trip because we will finally be able to decide where we are going to move to in a couple of months, I am terrified of the flying part of the trip.  Lame right?  I have always had a fear of flying, but for some reason I am really nervous for this trip.  I am thinking this has to do with a couple of reasons; 1-We have watching WAY too must "Lost" lately.  I am not sure that I would be able to survive like those people if we crashed on an island; 2-There have been a few commercial plane crashes lately.  The latest crash was in Montana and a lot of kids died in the crash.
I have flown before, but for some reason this time I am little more nervous because of these reasons.  The last time we flew was when Deagan was 4 months old and he slept the whole time.  18 months is a different story for a child on a plane.  I don't know what I am going to do to keep him entertained for 4 hours on a plane where he can't run around.  I feel sorry for the people who are going to be sitting around us.
Wish us luck! :s

I can do hard things!

I realized today while I was talking with my sister in law that everyone in life is struggling in one way or another whether it looks like it from the outside or not.  A pretty obvious lesson to learn you might think, but I have the hardest time thinking that I am the only one who knows what it is like to___or___. You fill in the blanks.  It is so easy to think that everyone else has it figured out when really they are thinking the same thing about everyone else.  Life is complicated and hard, but I am determined to do hard things!  This is against my nature, but I am hoping by saying that I will do those things that I find challenging I will have the motivation to do so.

I love this quote by Elder Wirthlin:

"How can we love days that are filled with sorrow? We can't - at least not in the moment.  I don't think my mother was suggesting that we suppress discouragement or deny the reality of pain.  I don't think she was suggesting that we smother unpleasant truths beneath a cloak of pretended happiness.  But I do believe that they way we react to adversity can be a major factor in how happy and successful we can be in life.

If  we approach adversities wisely, our hardest time can be times of greatest growth, which in turn can lead towards times of greatest happiness."

A little bit of potty talk

The other morning as we were getting ready, Deagan kept pointing to his diaper and saying "pee pee."  He has recently discovered that this is something that he can do! My dad sent us home with a potty chair after Christmas break, and I pulled it out to see what Deagan would do with it.  He seemed to understand what it was for and sat on it for a long time.  He didn't go "pee pee" in it or anything, but he does seem to be showing some interest in doing what mommy and daddy do.  In no way am I forcing this or thinking that it is time to start potty training because I am not ready for that, but it is still pretty cute to see how quickly he picks up on things.

A little modesty blur

Saying "Cheese!"

Little Drummer Boy

Deagan takes after his daddy loves to play his drums.  Greg got this little hand drum a while back, and it was Deagan's favorite thing in the whole world. It has sadly reached its end however due to a little too much excitement while playing.
Reminiscing over the heartache of losing this drum
The song that caused this loss can be seen here
